Which signs suit a studio, salon or spa?
In beauty, light should flatter, not glare. This combination works in most studios:
| Where | Our recommendation | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Reception wall | Halo-lit logo | Refined, glare-free light, with the face in gold, rosé or white. |
| Selfie spot | LED neon sign with a quote | Clients take photos and share your salon. |
| Waiting or relaxation area | Moss logo sign | Calming, and it improves the acoustics. |
| Frontage | Lightbox or projecting sign | So walk-in clients find you. |
Tips for lighting in beauty
- Keep coloured light away from the workstation: where hair colour, make-up or nail design is judged, coloured neon distorts what you see. Put the neon at reception or the selfie spot, not right at the mirror.
- Flattering colours for photos: warm white and soft pink make skin look soft on camera.
- No moss in wet areas: preserved moss belongs in the waiting area, not in the steam room, sauna or showers.
- Metal finishes to match the interior: halo-lit logos come with a gold, rose gold or copper face to match fittings and mirror frames.
Planning permission, installation and process
Neon signs and halo-lit logos for inside plug in, so you don't need an electrician. Signs on the outside of the building often need advertisement consent from your council; we supply the drawing and visual. Everything arrives with fixings and instructions. If you don't have an installer, we can help you find one near you. More in our installation guide and our overview of all sign types.
Frequently asked questions
Does coloured neon affect colour consultations?
Yes, if it hangs right at the workstation. Put the neon at reception or the selfie spot instead, and dim it if needed.
Which colour suits a selfie spot?
Warm white and soft pink are especially flattering in photos. We show you how your quote looks in your salon in the design preview.
Can my logo glow in gold or rose gold?
Yes, as a halo-lit logo: the face is gold, rose gold or copper, with a soft ring of light on the wall behind.
Is a moss logo suitable for a spa?
In the waiting and relaxation areas, yes. Steam rooms, saunas and showers are too damp.
Do I need an electrician?
Not for indoor neon signs and halo-lit logos – they plug in. For illuminated signs on the outside of the building, yes.
Do you install the signs?
As standard you get everything your installer needs. If you don't have one, we can help you find a sign fitter near you.
