Planning your business sign: how it works
- Send a photo and your logo: a straight-on photo of the storefront or wall, one measurement of the area and your logo, ideally as a vector file.
- Free design preview: we place the sign to scale on your photo, so you can see size, position and lighting before anything is made.
- Quote: with dimensions, materials and a firm delivery date.
- Approval and production: nothing is made until you approve.
- Delivery and installation: with mounting hardware and instructions. Illuminated signs are hardwired by a licensed electrician. If you don't have an installer, we can help you find one near you.
Do business signs need a permit?
Almost always. Most cities require a sign permit for exterior signs, and illuminated signs usually need an electrical permit as well. Historic districts often add a design review, and a sign that projects over the sidewalk may need an encroachment permit. If you lease your space, you'll also need your landlord's approval.

Do I need a permit for a business sign?

What's the difference between illuminated signs and LED neon?
Illuminated signage is the umbrella term for lit signs such as light boxes and channel letters. LED neon is one type: glowing lines of LED neon flex on acrylic.
Do I need an electrician?
For illuminated exterior signs, yes – they're hardwired by a licensed electrician. LED neon signs and indoor halo-lit signs come with a plug-in adapter.
Do you install the signs?
As standard you get everything your installer needs. If you don't have one, we can help you find a sign installer near you.
Which files do you need?
Ideally your logo as a vector file (PDF, AI, EPS or SVG) and a straight-on photo of the wall or storefront. A JPG or PNG is fine to get started.
How long does delivery take?
Once you approve your design preview, we confirm a firm delivery date in your quote.
