Which metal finish suits you?

From experience: on light natural stone or architectural concrete, brushed stainless steel looks crispest. On dark facades, a brass look or a light RAL color gives stronger contrast. The design preview shows both on a photo of your wall.

Flat cut or fabricated with depth?

Flat metal letters are routed or laser-cut from sheet. They look discreet and precise, ideal for a company name at the entrance or in the lobby. If you'd prefer acrylic to metal, the lighter alternative is our flat cut letters.

Fabricated letters have a face and returns, so they have real depth. They're the choice for facades and larger formats, and they're the only construction that can take halo lighting. See dimensional letters for more on the effect of depth.

Should your metal logo light up?

Metal doesn't let light through, so a glowing face isn't possible. What does work is a halo: LEDs behind the letter cast a ring of light onto the wall while the face stays pure metal. It looks particularly refined in the evening. More on our halo-lit signs page. If you need reach at night instead, front-lit channel letters are the better choice.

Installation and care

The letters have threaded studs on the back that go into holes drilled in the wall. Stand-offs set how far they float off the surface. A full-size drilling template is included. On natural stone, concrete and brick this holds for good; on EIFS you'll need special anchors. If you don't have an installer, we can help you find one near you.

For cleaning, water with a mild detergent and a soft cloth are all you need; on brushed stainless steel, wipe along the grain. Avoid abrasives and chlorine-based cleaners.

Which metal is right for outdoors?

Brushed or polished?

Brushed stainless steel is satin, timeless and barely shows fingerprints. Polished stainless steel has a mirror finish, looks very premium and needs a little more care.

Can I have a RAL color?

Yes. We powder-coat aluminum in any RAL color to match your brand guidelines.

How are the letters fixed?

With rear threaded studs and stand-offs. A drilling template is included.

Can a logo with fine detail be made?
